Overview

The E3F‑DS10C4 is a cylindrical photoelectric sensor designed for non‑contact object detection. It uses infrared light to sense targets and provides an NPN output, Normally Open (NO) configuration. This means the output is inactive until an object is detected, at which point the circuit closes and the output becomes active.

Note: Since it’s NPN NO, the black wire is normally open (no current flow). When an object is detected, the black wire is pulled low (to ground).

Installation

  1. Mounting: Secure the sensor using the threaded body and a bracket.
  2. Alignment: Aim the purple lens toward the detection zone.
  3. Wiring: Connect wires to your PLC, Arduino, or relay module as per the table above.
  4. Adjustment: Rotate the black sensitivity ring to fine‑tune detection distance.

Operation

  • No object detected → Output is open (inactive).
  • Object detected → Output closes, pulling the black wire low (active).
  • Use a pull‑up resistor or controller input to read the signal correctly.

Safety Notes

  • Supply voltage must not exceed 30 V DC.
