5A DC-DC Adjustable Step Down CC CV Power Supply Module

Main Features

This 5A DC-DC ADJUSTABLE STEP-DOWN CC CV POWER SUPPLY MODULE WITH VOLTMETER AND AMMETER is a step-down buck converter module that has constant current and constant voltage mode. It also has display LEDs indicating its status. With this, the user can:

  • Use it as a constant voltage source w/ current limit.
  • Use it as a constant current source.
  • Use it to charge different kinds of batteries, including Lead Acid and Lithium-ion Batteries.
  • Use it for LEDs that operate on constant current.

Operating Instructions

As a Constant Voltage Source with a Current Limit

  1. When you hook up power to the input voltage terminals, you can adjust the voltage output at the voltage output terminals through the seven-segment display. Rotate the Voltage Adjust Pot.
  2. You can set a current limit by shortening out the output voltage terminals. Next, adjust the Current Adjust Pot until you are satisfied with the reading at the Current Reading Seven Segment Display.
  3. You can now hook up your load to the output voltage terminals, knowing that you have a current output limit.

As a Constant Current Source

  1. After setting up your initial voltage output in the previous setup, hook up your load to the voltage output terminals.
  2. Now adjust the Current Adjust Pot until you achieve your desired constant current.

As a Battery Charger for Lead Acid or Lithium-Ion Batteries

  1. First, set the charging voltage by setting the Voltage Adjust Pot after applying power to the VInput Voltage terminals. The charging voltage is determined by your battery type. This can be 13.8V for lead-acid or 4.2V for Li-Ion.
  2. Next, short the output terminals and then adjust the Current Adjust Pot. Set it as your constant current charge. This may typically be 25% of your rated rated capacity for lead acid or 1C for Li-Ion.
  3. Hook up your battery. Your battery should start charging in constant current mode (indicated by the Charging Indicator).
  4. After that, you’ll end up in a constant voltage charge mode with the set voltage you set before (indicated by the Current Limit LED).
  5. Finally, there will be so little current left (0.1C) in charging, indicating your battery is fully charged. The Fully Charged Indicator will light up to indicate this condition.

The UART Interface

The UART interface can be used to monitor the output voltage and current using the UART protocol. However, the output may not be rugged enough to produce a stable display. Please check:
