The SS41F Latching Hall Effect Sensor is an integrated Bipolar Hall effect sensor.
It is a small and versatile Hall-effect device operated by a magnetic field and is designed to respond to alternating positive (South pole) and negative (North pole) magnetic fields.
The switch turns on by the presence of a positive magnetic field and turns off by a negative magnetic field.
Since it is a latching hall effect sensor, the state of the switch will stay even when the magnetic field is removed and will only change when the opposite field is presented. In addition, the SS41F Latching Hall Effect Sensor has a built-in regulator that provides enhanced stability of operation and an internal circuit that is designed to prevent sensor damage in case of accidentally reversing the supply voltage polarity.
